SUFC organise yet another successful event!

17.05.11 SUFC organise yet another successful event!

A Pasta Night to remember!

Swieqi United organized their first ever pasta night on Saturday 7thMay at the Ta’Ibragg Church Hall. A turnout of 65 people ensured that the event was successful. Fans, players and family members came together to support their club.

The night kicked off with a complementary drink being given out to all attendees followed by antipasti to nibble on. 5 rounds of tombola were played, which proved to be very successful and kept everyone on their toes waiting for their numbers to be called out in order to win their prizes.

The main course, prepared by Chef Monique Zammit, consisted of a buffet made up of three different pastas. Chef Monique did an amazing job and kept everyone’s stomach filled to the brim.

The president of SUFC, Dr Justin Fenech, gave a small speech highlighting the club's achievements for the 2010/11 season. A video highlight of all the goals scored by Swieqi United, compiled by Michael Callejja, was shown. This gave the opportunity to those who couldn’t attend the games to see our players in action and watch some greatgoals, including the eight goals scored against Xghajra Tornados which was a MFA record for this season. The Annual Swieqi Awards were presented by the President and distributed by the Vice-President for Team Matters, Mr Gavin Ellul (see seperate article). The event came to an end with the serving out of fresh strawberries and coffee/tea.

The club was immensely pleased with the turnout and income made from the event, and would definitely be holding more pasta nights in the near future.

The club would like to thank all those who came to the event and made it a successful one and would especially like to thank Fr. Tony who gave us his church hall to use for the event. Without his kind gesture, this event would not have been possible. The club would also like to thank M-GAS for providing sound, NSTS, Farsons and Chef Monique Zammit and her crew (John Zammit and Marisa Pace) for the cooking on the night. The club was also like to thank its sponsors:, Arrigo & Sons, Sixt Car Hire, Vacancy Centre, Logix Communications, Untangled Media, Cavalieri Hotel and Noel Muscat & Co.
