01.11.16 A successful Academy Live-in
Here at Swieqi United FC we are proud to say that our largest live-in yet went off without a hitch. For the first time we had a total of 63 kids participating in the live-in from the U9, U11, U15 and U17 teams. The live-in began on Friday afternoon and culminated with the U15 game on Sunday afternoon. We would also like to thank Sprachcaffe and their staff for their patience and understanding throughout the live-in.
The main goal for this live-in was to build on our philosophy of One Team – One Club throughout the entire club structure. For the youngest participants this live-in was about gaining life-skills and team bonding. For the older age groups the same holds true but our U17s also had the opportunity to help take care of and aid in coaching the younger age groups. Altogether the live-in was aimed at helping our boys grow both on and off the pitch.
During the live-in all the teams participated in team building events, treasure hunts, football tournaments and a football Quiz. We also had football specific discussions for the U15 and U17 groups to further game understanding. The younger boys participated in the Halloween Festival and on Sunday our U9 and U11 played friendly games against Mtarfa. It was a jam packed weekend for the club with the Halloween party and Pasta Night, which had an attendance of 200 people, happening on Friday night and Saturday night respectively. Finally our U15 team beat Marsaxlokk 4-2 in the league to cap off a wonderful weekend.
