Swieqi faced their biggest challenge to date this season when they next faced a stern challenge from Luxol Futsal. Despite playing against superior opponents, Swieqi definitely give them a run for their money and ensured that they emerged out of Corradino with a respectable 6-0 defeat.

Luxol immediately began to put pressure on Swieqi and keeper Balzan was called in to stop a dangerous attack. William Barbosa went close to putting his team in the lead, however his shot sailed just sailed over. A minute
later and Barbosa found his name on the scoreboard when he opened the scoreline 1-0 to Luxol.

Swieqi had 2 successive corners, with the later one presenting a golden chance for Swieqi when the ball travelled right across the goal line but nobody could poke it into the net. Dylan Micallef almost found himself committing a spectacular own goal when his shot took a wrong turn and crashed off the post!

Ex-Swieqi player Zvezdan made the scoreline 2-0 on the 7th minute and Zvezdan limited his celebration out of respect for his ex club. A minute later and Luxol were 3-0 ahead thanks to a well thank goal from outside the box. Swieqi tried to press hard for a goal and found themselves exposed on the 16th minute when an empty goal give Luxol a 4-0 lead. Karl Balzan pulled off a great save with his feet seconds from the end, however Luxol still managed to build on their lead and grab another goal before half time.

Swieqi's team talk must have paid off, for in the second half the team came out fighting and challenging for every ball, surprising Luxol who had to commit 6 fouls in total to try and retain Swieqi from scoring! Bobo and Timmy Gingell both had good chances to grab a goal however they saw their chances well saved by the Luxol keeper. On the 12th minute Luxol added a 6th goal, but this didn't stop the Owls from continue to fight for the ball. Fred was unlucky to see his well taken goal hit both posts, possibly leading for calls for goal line technology to be installed even in Futsal! Dylan also saw his shot kept out.

Swieqi keeper Karl Balzan required medical help and had to be substituted 4 minutes from the end of the match due to injury. James Attard was called into the match and ensured that Luxol wouldn't score another goal.

On the 18th minute Luxol committed their 6th foul resulting in a penalty kick awarded to Swieqi. Bobo saw his shot hit the post, with the rebound falling to him. Bobo passed to Fred who blasted the ball in, however the referee called back the goal since Bobo touched the ball twice before another player did.

All in all it was a great evening of Futsal at Corradino and Swieqi definitely showed everyone why they deserve a spot in the top 6 of the Championship.
