05.10.15 Seniors win clinically and obtain first points

If ever Swieqi needed a win, then today was it as the Orange ruthlessly dispatched Zurrieq at the Mosta Stadium. From the onset, the Owls' intentions were clear as they began briskly and with intent to cause some serious damage to the Southerners' backline. Daniel Calleja Cremona opened the scoring on '13 minutes when a cross from the left by Kane Micallef went past the keeper and Cremona from an acute angle managed to poke the ball over the line. It was soon 2-0 when some neat work by Kurt Coleiro allowed Kenneth Ekezie to double the scoreline.

The Orange should have made it three when Ekezie's shot hit the post but on the other hand, the Owls were grateful to have Goalkeeper Sam Bartolo in top form when he performed a good point blank save from close range.

The Second half was similar to the first in the sense that the Orange came out all guns blazing. On 50' minutes, Ekezie doubled his tally after a neat pass from Patrick Briscoe White. Shortly after, Kane Micallef's expertly guided free kick made it 4-0 to cap off an outstanding afternoon for Swieqi. Jon Briscoe White also made his long awaited return from suspension.

The Orange now face a stern test vs Mgarr next week.
